We're Artist Society.
We're here for all Columbia affiliates who can't (and can!) fit visual arts classes into their schedule but still want focused studio time. Our unofficial membership currently comprises around sixty Columbians at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Here's a bit of what we do.
Whether you're a total beginner or were born with a Staedtler in hand, our Friday Night Sessions and Saturday Morning Sessions give you the opportunity to study the human figure via nude figure nude drawing.
This five-hour-long drawing marathon (and its three-hour-long cousin) challenges you to draw a new model every hour, on the hour. This event takes place periodically on Fridays.
Halloween-themed still lifes? A night dedicated only to painting? Drawing portraits for—and of—members of the Columbia community? We do it all, and more.
